Big Bling Hollow Ring with Cathy Prieto-Smith
May 27 – May 28, 2017
9:30-4:30pm each day
I call it a Big Bling Hollow Ring but cocktail rings, or dinner rings as they are sometimes called, first came into fashion in the 1940s and ’50s and have remained popular since, though they emerge more during flamboyant fashion years and recede slightly during more austere ones. In 2006, they made a major return to the red carpet and many stars wore cocktail rings to the Oscars, Emmys, and Golden Globe Awards.
If you are looking for a ring that draws every eye in the room, this ring is for you! These rings radiate drama and glamor – they’re the polar opposite of everyday simplicity, making them perfect for a big night out!
In this 2-day workshop, you will design and create your very own. Cathy Prieto-Smith will guide you through the process of cutting, stamping or texturizing, piercing, forming and soldering sterling silver sheet into your very own one-of-a-kind amazing “Wowza” Bling Ring!
